Kepware Kepserverex

KEPServerEX is the industry’s leading communications platform that provides a single source of industrial control data for all your applications. The design of the platform allows users to link, manage, monitor and control different automation devices and software applications through a single intuitive user interface.

KEPServerEX uses OPC (the industry’s most widely used control-to-software interface) and IT-centric communication protocols (such as SNMP, ODBC, and Web Services) to provide users with a single source of industrial data. KEPServerEX is built on the four foundations of proven interoperability, centralized communication, scalability (scalability) according to demand and industrial strength, and it was developed and tested in order to meet the customer’s demand for performance, reliability and ease of use.

Communication methods:

OPC Server

OPC is the leading standard of industrial automation connectivity. The KEPServerEX platform supports the OPC Unified Architecture (OPC UA) specification and many of the OPC Classic specifications, including OPC Data Access (OPC DA), OPC Alarms and Events (OPC AE) as well as OPC Historical Data Access (OPC HDA).

Automation interfaces

KEPServerEX has preferred access to leading automation software, including iFIX by GE Intelligent Platforms (NIO) and InTouch by Wonderware (SuiteLink/FastDDE). In addition, KEPServerEX even supports preferred access to Oracle’s MES and MOC solutions through their proprietary API.

IT interfaces

KEPServerEX supports multiple interfaces that enable integration with IT applications, including ODBC for documenting information in a database and SNMP for providing information to a Network Management System (NMS). Following the evolution of IoT and Big Data applications), the KEPServerEX platform now includes the ability to communicate with Splunk cloud software and services through the Industrial Data Forwarder for Splunk.

The Internet of Things and Cloud Services

Thanks to IoT Gateway, the IoT Gateway platform can seamlessly stream real-time industrial control data directly to Big Data and analytics software used for business intelligence and operational excellence. The customizable data format supports most MQTT and REST applications, allowing users to choose the providers and communication methodologies that suit their system.

Some applications require the availability of information from files or databases. Typically, this information is exported at a predetermined rate and includes both current and historical data. The KEPServerEX platform supports the export of historical EFM (Electronic Flow Measurement) data (through the EFM Exporter plugin) or historical trend data (through supported device managers) to files and/or databases.
